Privacy and data use policy

At Cabañas Choikehuapi we use your data only to handle your question or booking and to keep internal business statistics. We don't sell it, we don't use it for advertising and we don't build profiles of our visitors.
Who is responsible
- Cabañas Choikehuapi (Turismo Choikehuapi), Arturo Prat 100, Cochrane, Región de Aysén, Chile.

What data we collect
- When you check availability: dates, number of guests and the cabin you choose.
- When you send a booking request or a message: name, email, phone or WhatsApp, country and anything you want to tell us.
- If you contact us by WhatsApp, phone or email: whatever you send us that way.
- On arrival: name and ID of the person who booked, to identify them and issue the receipt or invoice.
- Technical visit data: like any website, our hosting service logs the IP address, browser type, page visited and time, so the site works and stays secure.
- This site never asks for card details and takes no payments.
What we use it for
- To answer your question and to confirm, manage or cancel your booking.
- To meet the legal and tax obligations of a lodging business, such as issuing receipts or invoices.
- For internal business statistics: occupancy by season, number of site visits, guests' countries of origin and how they found us. These statistics are aggregated, identify no one and never leave the business.
- We don't use your data for advertising, we don't sell it or hand it to others for their own purposes, and we won't send you promotions unless you ask.
Legal basis
- Your consent, when you write to us or send a request. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Performance of the lodging contract, when you book.
- The business's legal and tax obligations.
- Our legitimate interest in keeping anonymous internal statistics and keeping the site secure.
Cookies and browser storage
- This site uses no tracking or advertising cookies and no third-party analytics tools.
- We store in your own browser whether you prefer light or dark mode and whether you left the music on. Those settings never reach us.
- The location map is provided by Google Maps. When it loads, Google may use its own cookies under its privacy policy.
Who we share it with
- Only with the providers we need to operate, and only for that purpose: our hosting service (Netlify), our booking management system, our email service, and WhatsApp if you choose to write to us there. Some of them process data outside Chile, for example in the United States, with appropriate security measures.
- We may also hand data to an authority when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Data from an enquiry that doesn't become a booking is deleted within 12 months.
- Booking data is kept for as long as tax law requires (up to 6 years) and then deleted or anonymised.
- Internal statistics are kept only in anonymous form.
Your rights
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, object to its use or get a copy, under Chilean Law 19.628 on privacy and its amendments (Law 21.719).
- Write to Opazomorales@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days.
- If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to Chile's Personal Data Protection Agency (Agencia de Protección de Datos Personales).
Minors and automated decisions
- We don't collect data about minors through the site. Data about minors staying with us is provided by the responsible adult.
- We don't make automated decisions or build profiles with your data.
Security
- The site only works over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to booking data is limited to the people who run the cabins.
- If a security incident ever affects your data, we'll let you know and report it to the authorities when the law requires.
Changes to this policy
- If we change it, we'll publish the new version here with its date.
